The Island Savings Family Festival event held at the PISE facility on May 29 was a wonderful success and MiniMax Media was very proud to have been a small part of it, providing our new Portable Outdoor Displays on a very blustery day. There were something like 40 different sports/activities represented, from Salsa Dancing to Rope Skipping, Judo, Badminton and Diving to name just a few. The gorgeous PISE facility and its grounds didnt hurt either but it was really the staff and organizers who did such a great job of keeping everthing moving along in an organized and efficient manner while at the same time recognizing sponsors, politicians and athletes and incredibly, never losing focus on the real purpose of the event; Young people having fun through physical activity! Thank you PISE for allowing us to participate, congratulations and we look forward to next year.

The Q’s Victoria Track Series opener this Saturday was a very windy affair but didnt seem to affect anyones enthusiasm. The event/sponsor banner looked great and never really wavered even in some very strong gusts. The event branding, sponsor recognition, registration, and efficient administration were effortlessly managed by event coordinator Chris Kelsall and his team of dedicated volunteers, with a little help from the Minimax banner as well as the Q’s rockin’ tunes. MiniMax Media is proud to be a sponsor of this event and will continue to provide the POD to both brand the series and thank its many local supporters.

Branding the Team

Welcome to the match

Victoria United FC made good use of our new portable displays this weekend both in branding the match outside the gates of Royal Athletic Park and inside with the large 10 foot sponsor display. It was a very blustery day but the POD’s stayed put, looking great throughout the doubleheader. The displays recieved compliments from numerous staff members and attendees as well as becoming the impromptu backdrop for individual team player photos after the match (a great example of the many benefits of being large, portable and designed with that professional touch). The clubs POD’s will be back at every match this season keeping their great name and long tradition, front and centre. Great job, Victoria United FC

Here are a few photos which demonstrate some of the stages taken in the development of the POD. The photos point out the unique ability of the POD to be displayed in the most advantageous locations without the need of existing supports like fences or buildings.

Its finally here! Its hard to believe that such a simple banner stand took months to tweak before we were happy with the final prototype and boy are we happy! Here is a photo of its debut at a local race event that will be using the “POD” twice a month over the 2010 summer race season. Now, if only I had a photo of the POD outdoors

Developing, manufacturing and launching our new Portable Outdoor Display Stands seemed like it would be a rather simple task in the scheme of things, they are simple devices serving a simple purpose. It seemed that few quick sketches and a handy metal worker would produce our new creation easily and quickly. On this our official launch day it is certainly a beautiful sight but it was neither easy nor quick and without the help of 3 local metalworking companies a sandblasting company and a powdercoating company a fastener supplier a communications company, 3 design consultants, the tireless work of our own Art Director and at least a dozen contributions from our client base our simple POD might still be merely that sketch on a paper scrap. It became a co-operative project in every sense of the word and we owe its existance and our sincere thanks to everyone who helped us in its creation. Thank you everyone, Thank you!

Our newest innovation, (the POD) is a portable billboard for use in common areas like roadside boulevards, parking lots, fields or anywhere that a large display is needed. It is constructed of heavy gauge round, square and flat plate steel and bolts together making it very compact and manageable when stored or traveling yet heavy and sturdy when assembled. Banners hang straight, without sagging or creasing. POD banners are difficult to miss by passers-by for several reasons: even the smallest version (5′ X 5′) is very large: the message (actually artwork) is printed in beautiful full process colour: they are often situated in unexpected locations which in some cases may actually vary from day to day: they are unlike anything currently in use today. If our message needs to be seen, to stand out from others, to be where our customers will see it, to be graphically creative, imaginative and pleasing to the eye, to be framed in a professional manner and finally which can be rented at a very modest cost, the POD is the answer. POD stands rent by the day, week or month. They frame 5 foot banners in lengths of 5, 7 or 10 feet, either single or double sided using either the same or different graphics on each side. The POD is manufactured right here in Victoria as is the powder coat finish and the banners themselves, providing employment and economic enrichment to our local community.
